The vegetable vendor, who comes pushing his wagon full of wares, shouting out the items and their fares, comes as a relief to us as we don’t have to go to the market. He showers his attention solely on us, unlike the market vendors who have people thronging his small make shift shop. He provides special discounts for his loyal customers and we always get to choose the vendor providing quality goods. Time and energy saved, and cost being the same, we are really grateful to the, now rare, vegetable wagon that comes right to your doorstep. If a single household feels the burden of buying groceries and food items, it is easily imaginable as to the proportion of work that is required to procure items for restaurants and businesses. Smartly capturing this fact and grabbing this completely untapped line of work, Soukwagon was born.

Soukwagon was started in Bangalore by Jimmy Kuruvila (39 years) a hotelier with about 17 years’ experience and specialises in Restaurant and F&B operations, Sales & Marketing, Process setting & Management, Nanda Kishore (36 years) a post graduate in Management with about 15 years’ experience in Buying & Merchandising and SagarBhupalam (30 years) enterprising IT professional having more than 8+ years of experience in Software development, Systems integration & Enterprise architecture. The big challenge for the startup was to change the mindset of the people in the buying and selling businesses. Digitalization is as new and complex as astrophysics to those people who trust their traditional ways of procurement of Vegetables, fruits, meat, chicken, seafood to groceries, dairy, operating equipment and even housekeeping products.

Souk means a market place in Arabic. Acting as the only online market place for vegetables, fruits and groceries, it is a B2B business digital platform where items are sold and bought in bulk quantities. They provide a list of sellers to buy from. All that the sellers have to do is register themselves with the startup and their items go online. All that the buyers have to do is choose the items they need and place an order which will be delivered o your doorstep, much like your vegetable vendor. Providing complete transparency in selling and purchasing, they promise unique aggregated price advantage, purchase reports & spend analytics. Read more Startup Stories.
