This startup is on a mission to bring convenience in pet parenting in India
It was during Sep-Oct’15 when I was working with CarWale as Product Manager in Mumbai, I thought of adopting a dog. But sadly there was no online platform available for adopting a dog in India and the only platform available was OLX which was a platform to BUY dogs and not ADOPT. I met Udit (my college friend) in Mumbai who was working as backend engineer in Niffler and Neha who was working with Design studio in Mumbai. We all three are passionate dog lovers and came together to start Petdom as India’s first dog adoption platform.
We leverage technology to bring dogs from animal shelters, NGOs and pet loving individuals under one virtual roof and expedite the process of helping them find home. We have helped some 250+ dogs find home till now. After these adoption we realised that the cost of helping a dog find home is around INR 700-1000. This is the average cost to add the dog to platform, reach out to user, salaries of telecallers, dog transportation etc. The funds raised will be utilized to find safe homes for dogs in need.” We launched a crowdfunding campaign in May 2016 to raise $10,000 and help another 1000+ homeless dog find a safe deserving home.
Crowdfunding is a way to raise money from friends, family and early adopter or believers in the idea. Abhinav Tyagi, Founder CEO of Petdom is happy and thankful to all 97 contributors who helped raise $ 10,096 via a rewards based crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. The money that we have raised will be utilised to help more than 1000 homeless dogs. We raised 40% of the target in first 3 days.

Petdom has recently launched PaWish which is a monthly subscription box of dog food and goodies. We sniff products from the range of organic products and treats for dogs based on their specific requirement of age, size and breed and pack them in a box and get it delivered to your doorstep.
We have delivered 50+ boxes in last one month and have crossed the INR 1 Lakh in revenue. We look forward to launching more products and services later this year. We are also building an online vet chat bot for handling all the pet parents Vet issues online.
