Loom.AI technology creates personalised and dynamic 3D avatars from photographs for messaging, social VR, chatbots, games and e-commerce. They enable a new era of virtual communication by automatically converting selfies into expressive 3D avatars. The core technology leverages Loom.ai’s deep expertise in computer vision and machine learning combined with VFX magic to create life-like human face visualisations. The animated and expressive faces can be used to power applications in VR, gaming, messaging, e-commerce and virtual classrooms for individuals and businesses around the world.

Loom.AI captures the 3D avatars even with the help of Selfie. The front facing camera is used to registers the geographical attributes of the face with presided cuts and curves. A predefined facial animation cycle is used to take the inputs of the face.  The output is given by Avatar API is an industry-grade FACS facial rig customised to the user photo and can be imported into any standard game engine or digital content creation.

The California-Based startup is Co-founded by Indian Entrepreneurs Kiran Bhatt and Mahesh Ramasubramaniyam in the year 2016. It is founded by an award-winning team of visual effects. Previously, the team has worked with DreamWorks and LucasFilm. They have been funded by top Silicon Valley investors including Danhua Capital, Y Combinator, Presence Capital, Anorak Ventures, Zach Coelius’ syndicate and individuals including GV partner Joe Kraus. The total equity funding of the startup is of $1.35 Million which took place in 2 funding rounds.

Loom.AI is currently developing machines learning technologies, which will allow users to capture avatars which will be intricacies of their personalities.
