FRACTAL MEDIA PROMISES NO MORE BORING RIDES

We hear a common joke from people who commute to other cities for work. “The flight from Bangalore to Hyderabad was just 20 minutes. But the drive from my house to Bangalore airport and from Hyderabad airport to the office was more than 4 hours collectively.” This is not an exaggeration. It is what happens. Sitting in a bus or a cab to pass every unhurried minute of those dreadfully slow moving hours is very frustrating. We do listen to songs. But the repeated task of listening to the same songs on the playlist over and over again becomes very tedious. Waiting in the car amid the throes of a horizon less row of vehicles with nothing serene to look out at through the windows and the pandemonium of all frequency horns blaring in our ears, the suffocation hits you. Inspired to transform this experience into an engaging, entertaining and informative one, fractal media was started.

THE ENTERTAINMENT RIDE PROVIDERS

After experiencing “taxi tv’s” in the New York yellow cabs as students, sitting in a cab in the Mumbai city traffic, the idea of on-ride media services struck the founders who are all alumni of Rochester Institute of Technology. The three founders are Atharva Sabnis (CEO, 24 years) an alumnus of Symbiosis International University holds a double-major in Economics and Finance and is accountable for strategy and business development at Fractal Media, Ronak Shah (COO, 23years) an alumnus of Mithibai College holds a double-major in Civil Engineering and Psychology and is accountable for product development, customer experience and operations and Ajinkya Deshpande (CFO, 27 years) an alumnus of Pune Institute of Computing Technology holds a Master’s Degree in Finance, in addition to an undergraduate degree in Information Technology Engineering and is accountable for finance and operations at Fractal media. After the initial struggles to get the fleet operators to understand the ingenuity of the idea and educating about its enhancement of the travel experience, fractal media came up with Taxi cubes.

TAXI CUBES FOR AN ENGROSSING RIDE

The fractal media has come up with taxi cubes for bus and car rides. Taxi cubes is an interactive media device which is location-driven. This opened up an untapped advertising space for organizations. Fractal media has an entertainment content library which is the only open content platform. This service provides the possibility of watching content from wherever is left off without having to login anywhere. The features of the service include interactive mobile games, lite version apps, videos and graphics. With a network of interactive tablets mounted in transit vehicles, branding, advertising and entertainment content is delivered. THE FUTURE OF TRANSIT ENTERTAINMENT

The fractal media is trying to collaborate with many major cab service providers, two major trains and the largest fleet of bus transport to enhance their customer service quality and become the future of transit entertainment. Fractal Media won the pitching round at Startup India Rocks Mumbai.
