Twitter SEA Managing Director Parminder Singh Quits

It was just two days ago when Rishi Jaitly, Head of Twitter India had announced his resignation and now a new report has been all around that Parminder Singh, Twitter SEA Managing Director has stepped down from the company. Singh declared his exit through a series of tweets and hinted that he is moving towards the new passion.

“An update. After leading Twitter in Asia’s most exciting markets (India/SEA/MENA) for 3 yrs, time to move on to new passions,” Mr. Singh mentioned in his tweets. Also confirmed that he would quit the company by the month-end and will help a content based startup in India and Singapore. “Next steps – explore disruptive models to add value to Digital Content in Asia & step up pace to use technology for good!,” Mr. Singh tweeted.

With information available, India and South East Asia region are now aligned with the Asia Pacific region, whereas MENA region would be aligned to the Europe, the Africa, and the Middle East market.  Read more news on Twitter.

According to Singh, India and South East Asia region will be handled by new managing director- Maya Hari, who will report to Aliza Knox,Vice President, Asia Pacific. Besides, the micro-blogging website has appointed Benjamin Ampen as its new managing director for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East region. Mr. Singh added in his another tweet, “INSEA will be managed by @maya_hari and MENA by @bampen. Both great professionals, have worked with me closely & well suited to drive growth.”

Twitter, which was earlier reported to sell itself but had to end that procedure as it couldn’t find any potential buyers, is now reconsidering its business. Recently, the micro-blogging website Twitter had also been surrounded in the headlines for reducing nine per cent of or about 300 employees globally. Last year, similar per cent got to see when co-founder Jack Dorsey took place as the CEO.

Maya Hari, who is the new managing director for India and South East Asia region, has also worked for Google, Samsung, Microsoft, Conde Nast, and Cisco in the past and has a “proven track record in Mobile, Data Services, Digital Monetization & Lifestyle Commerce,”  according to her linkedin profile.
