T-Works – A Startup Incubator for Hardware Industries

After successfully managing the biggest startup Incubator of the Country T-Hub, Telangana government will now be launching T-Works, a startup incubator which will be completely focused on hardware industries.

T-Work will work same in the process of T-Hub, all the incubation process will be completely driven towards hardware industries. The T-Works will take place in Osmani University which is an iconic campus in Hyderabad.

The inauguration is scheduled in the next month where the officials of T-Works have decided to invite 13th President of India, Mr.Pranab Mukherjee to enhance the launch of T-Works. The official’s committee has decided to send a formal invitation to the President in order to inaugurate the startup incubator.

In a statement, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of IT, “T-Works on the lines of T-Hub for Hardware, a large setup will come up in Osmania University and we are requesting the President, Pranab Mukherjee to launch it during the Centenary Celebrations of the University next month.”

The state government will be investing Rs.35-40  crores on the infrastructure of T-Works. It will act as a development centre for electronics, semiconductors and hardware start-ups. Telangana’s push towards electronics manufacturing coincides with the Union government’s Make in India initiative under which it is trying to promote domestic production.

The new facilities will work in the process inspired from California State’s iHub. During his recent visit to the US, IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao has tied up with iHub to generate work models.

T-Works will have its own CEO and COO to monetize the operations. It will have both industry representatives and government representatives onboard. The young entrepreneurs will also be incorporated with domestic as well as global clients. The startup will be booking the equipment and use it for a specific period of time which they will pay the least possible amount as users fee.

Neighbouring State, Andhra Pradesh has also unveiled similar electronics policy that has drawn the attention of world’s biggest electronics contract manufacturer, Foxconn Technology Group. The manufacturer makes phones for OnePlus, Asus and Xiaomi among others at a facility. Domestic manufacturers like Celkon, Micromax, Karbonn Mobile India Pvt. Ltd. and Lava International Ltd. have agreed to set up an electronics manufacturing association in Tirupati which is located in southern part of Andhra Pradesh.
