Mobile wallet company MobiKwik appoints Daman Soni as new vice president of growth. Despite of heading the growth function he will also be responsible for achieving the company’s user growth targets. Mr. Soni will also support marketing functions at company.
Daman Soni has persuaded his MBA from ISB Hyderabad and Engineering from NIT-Roukela. Earlier Mr Soni was head of sales and communication at Infosys, head of Punjab for Nokia telecommunications and India Head for Line Corporation (social messaging application).
It would be a challenging task for Daman Soni for playing as vice president of growth at MobiKwik as the usage of mobile wallets and online payments has touch the skies after demonetization stage. Mobikwik currently holds the position #102 in top trending applications at Google Play Store in India. Leader in this space is Paytm, while the new entrant JIO Money is on 50s position. Post demonetization banks also started giving priorities to their mobile wallets. Soni has to fight with this completion to grow MobiKwik.
Founded in August 2009 by Upasana Taku & Bipin Singh, Mobikwik is a mobile wallet which is used for shopping, P2P money transfer, bill payments, booking public transportation and many more. Mobikwik runs on both mobile and computer platforms.
