Goa to Promote Startup’s by investing $25.8 Million

Goa has to be the first go Holiday destination for people around the world, Goa government has now decided to promote the startups from the state. State’s chief minister Manohar Parrikar, has allocated Rs 169 crore for the IT sector, including Rs 15 crore for startups alone. The government also promised to create more than 4000 jobs for the Goan People.

Commenting on the allocation, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said: “There is no evidence that more regulations make things better. With minimising regulations my government will emphasise on ease of doing business initiatives in Goa and implement the business reform action plan in the state, to be among the top 10 Indian states through an e-governance platform, integrating and synergizing all government departments and entities.”

Apart from this, the Chief Minister has also assured the implementation of Goa IT Policy 2015. ‘Chimbel IT Park’ which was announced by the government will be completed in next two years. He also announced Rs.50 Lakhs to encourage incubation centres and entrepreneur development centres in the state.

Other state governments are also started encouraging startups. Recently, Bihar Government announced Rs 500 Crore in order to facilitate the startups, Earlier Odisha Government has also Signed MoU with Invest India to promote state startups.

All these steps were taken by the state government under Prime Minister Initiative Startup India. India ranks 3rd Position in startup Ecosystem in India. With the push from state government hopefully, India will shift to the top position in the world. Read more Indian Startup Ecosystem.
