Gaming Startup Mech Mocha has managed to raise $3.2 Million of Series A funding from Accel Partner. The funding round was also participated by their existing investors for China Shunwei Capital. According to the filings with the Registrar of Companies, Accel has invested around $1.7 million (Rs 11 crore) while Shunwei put in $1.5 Million (Rs 10 crore).
The Bangalore-Based startup was founded in 2011 by Arpita Kapoor and Mohit Rangaraju. Mech Mocha is a mobile gaming startup based in Bangalore working towards ‘Making India Play’. The mobile game startup is working towards disrupting the casual gaming space in India and build games for next 500 Million mobile games of India. The company clocked 100,000 downloads in the first four days of launch.
When asked about the funding, Arpita Kapoor said, “It’s very early stage and we are still figuring out our strategy but we will be targeting games for the Indian market. We are finalising multiple things and can’t comment on the specifics as of now.”
Earlier, in January 2017, Shunwei Capital made its debut in India by funding Mech Mocha with $2 Million of Angel funding. The total equity funding of the Mech Mocha is of $3.92 Million. Read more about Mech Mocha.
