Dakshin Kannada the area comprising of coastal Mangalore and Bantwai taluks and the mainlands of Puttur, Belthangady and Sullia taluks. The beautiful beaches and nice western ghats are going to get one more Jewel in its land.
As per the communication from Dept of Commerce and Industry, The Mangalore belt of Dakshin Kannada will be the first Startup District. The Idea is to build the startup culture at grass root level. The innovation will start of as a part of particular Geography and scale it up. Based on the lessons learned from the Startup District, the idea will be implemented across other geographies in India.
The implementation plan will be part of the Atul Innovation mission. The initial phase will be to setup tinkering lab across schools, colleges and professional institutes to foster innovation. The labs will be equipped with infrastructure to support innovation and bring life to the ideas. The labs will have 3D printers and facilities to foster innovation. The labs will be called Atul Tinkering labs. The implementation plan for the project will initially be kicked off based on the experience of IIT Research Center. Ashok Jhunjunwalla, a renowned academic and industrial liaison from IIT will help hand hold the project for Mangalore Startup District. We expect great outcome based on this initiative. This initiative from Government and academicians has a three phased approach. They kickstarter of innovation will be from Schools, which will be followed up by College and then to the institutions outside.
Looking forward for great outcome and embedding of Innovation into young minds of India.
