Aricent CSR initiative and NASSCOM foundation have merged and launched ARISE which is a skill development program for engineering college students who are willing to join IT industry. About 3400 engineering students from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Delhi-NCR will be trained.
Last year ARISE was able to train over 2700 students from different parts of the country. The trained students are currently working in top MNCs like Amazon, Dell, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro among others. Most of the students are selected via on-campus from Tier-2 and Tier-3 engineering colleges.
The students will be given training on the basis of SDLC methodologies, training, testing; programming languages like JAVA and database languages like SQL, API creation through JDBC and product designing. Apart from improving technical skills, students also get training on communicational skills. The students will also be trained on business etiquettes, problem-solving, time management, customer orientation and interview skills which will help them at the time of job applications.

NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Services Companies) is a trade association of Indian Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing industry. Established in 1988, NASSCOM is a non-profit organisation.

ARISE has selected iPRIMED, MindMap and Centum Learning institution to provide on-campus skills development. They will conduct on-campus counselling among students and select the most deserving of them.
Ashwani Lal, Chief Operations and Quality Officer, and Chairman of the CSR Board at Aricent, addressed: “With the help of Nasscom Foundation, we intend to create a mutually beneficial situation for young students and the industry — where the industry gets highly skilled graduates right from the college and the students get enhanced employment opportunities.”
After the completion of the course, the candidates will be assessed on the NDSC- SSC NASSCOM Qualification Packs (QP) and certified for the relevant job roles, further enhancing the chances of employment. Read more about Indian Startup.
