Online hygiene products retailer, Safetykart raises funding

Safety has become a serious problem in today’s scenario, especially for the women. An entrepreneur, Vikas Bagaria looked into the problem and took it seriously. After hearing the news of Nirbhaya gang rape in Delhi, he decided to make an online platform providing all the products and services related to women’s safety with the aim of spreading awareness towards safety among the people.

In February 2013, he came up with the idea of an e-commerce platform, Safetykart.com that provides everything for protection, prevention, care, health and Secure. His one of the successful products is PeeSafe which is a toilet seat sanitizer spray for personal hygiene that cleanses the toilet seats ensuring protection against all germs and bacteria. The company claims to sell over one lakh units in past 30 months having 50% of the repeat buyers, out of which 50,000 units are sold in the fiscal year of 2016-17 gaining revenue of Rs 1.2 crore.

The Safetykart.com has recently raised funding by Dheeraj Jain, the founder of RedCliffe Hygiene who has acquired 10% stakes in the company. Jain is planning to launch new online platform, RedCliffe Hygiene, for hygiene related products supporting government’s program Swach Bharat Campaign.

Not revealing the exact amount, Managing Director of RedCliffe Capital, Dheeraj Jain said, “RedCliffe Capital has bought a 10% stake in SafetyKart.com and a sizeable share in RedCliffe Hygiene with a board seat. We have made $1 million commitment across milestones and phases of the brand building of products under RedCliffe Hygiene.”

Joining his hands with RedCliffe Hygiene, Vikas Bagaria will serve this newly founded e-commerce platform as its director while his self-made, Safetykart.com, will remain operational led by the group of professionals.

Now, they will work together, Safetykart focusing on the e-commerce platform, and RedCliffe Hygiene focusing on the distribution and production of products. In addition to PeeSafe, GymSafe and MoskitoSafe are its new products to be launched this year by RedCliffe Hygiene.

The SafetyKart.com provides products under categories of health care, mother & child care, sports & adventure safety, personal care, travel safety, home safety, personal safety and others. It is currently operational in other countries like Australia, Kenya, Nigeria, and Singapore.
