Startup Saturday 100th edition -Highlights of Centennial Saturday
Hyderabad: A day of serendipity and filled with energetic entrepreneurs, Headstart has successfully completed its 100th edition of the Startup Saturday here at the IIIT Hyderabad adjacent to T-Hub. The event, labelled as ‘The Centennial Saturday’ received a huge response and was partnered by the top and elite startups of Hyderabad.
The event kicked of energetically with a Zumba session conducted by Mahesh Kumar Katta, a leading Zumba instructor. The session was introduced by Ramesh Loganathan. Startup Saturday was started back in 2008 with an intention to boost the entrepreneurship in the country through power talks and right exposure to entrepreneurs from all walks of life. The event was previously held at the Ikeva (for the Hyderabad chapter) and this time, it being 100th episode, it was all on pomp. Apart from Startup Saturdays (second Saturday of every month), Headstart also is responsible for great programmes like Co-Founder search program, Higher, Headstart Club, Co-Work etc.
A discussion panel session was followed by the fun activity which spoke on what exactly an investor looks for before he/she shells a definitive investment. “Team, Impact and the ability to scale up is important to me,” Says Ramana Gogula, leading singer, composer and an entrepreneur who was a panel member at the discussion. “Money must not be the only goal for an entrepreneur” He added. Mr. Gogula has made more than 20 great investments so far through the United Seed Fund, a venture capitalist firm.

,founder, App Labs and CEO of Sri Capital who is also a serial entrepreneur, Venture capitalist, and an angel investor. “Look for 3 paying customers and that is when you can claim your startup to be a viable business” He added to the panel.
Following a small break and a few musical numbers by the Detox Fox, there was another panel which was in with 3 leading startups from the city. Vaishali Neotia from Merxius, Karthik Venkat from My Dream Store and Ganes from Gramener. All the three of them talked about their early days of starting up and their journey as an entrepreneur. “People Judge you by the extent of THEIR potential. Never give up. Follow the rule of perseverance” Says Vaishali Neotia. Ms. Neotia was also present at the Reboot July 2k16 recently where she gave an inspiring power talk to the young and budding entrepreneurs.
The next couple of panels dealt with the real meaning of accelerators, incubators and co-working spaces among a few other topics. The real great show was the Rap Your Pitch where eminent startup founders have rapped their pitch to the audience among a thundering applause. The startups included Stumagz, Kahaniya, Fat Cow Creamery and Nebulae Pulse.
