No worries if you missed AugustFest – this is all you missed at the event
The first day of August fest received a great response from the audience. Around 12000 odd members attended the august fest to garner knowledge about the various topics related to startups. The IT Minister of Telangana K T Rama Rao, gave a keynote address to the gathering and participated in a Fire Side Chat hosted by IT Secretary Mr Jayesh Ranjan, along with Mr Phanindra Sama, founder of Red Bus and Mr. Abhay Deshpande. He laid an emphasis on failures and said that we must imbibe the culture of celebrating failures and that’s the only way we can succeed. He further encouraged the entrepreneurs by telling them not to lose hope if you fail in first attempt and put up the fact that most of the entrepreneurs have succeeded in their 2nd or 3rd attempts.
After the keynote, Mr Neal Cross, The Chief Innovation Officer of DBS Bank gave a talk about how disruptive innovation can be implemented in startups and how innovation can be a leading factor to unsettle the markets. He cited examples of how he implemented disruptive innovation while working for DBS bank. For instance he made it to be the worlds only digital bank and was the pioneer in making the customers open their bank accounts just with their thumb print. It was also the first bank to have Artificial Intelligence customer service. Later, Chris Chandler explained about the importance of design and how the entrepreneurs must solely focus on customer’s satisfaction and the simplicity of the end product. He also laid an emphasis on why startups should focus on a UX design when compared to UI design.
Following this there was a talk about the battles and failures of startups by eminent entrepreneurs Mr.Srinivas Madhavan, Mr.Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya, Ms.Ritu Srivastava,Ms.Akancha Srivastava. Every one of them presented their Story in a very beautiful manner. After this there was a mind boggling speech by Mr.Jairaj Mashru, Founder At Bombay Innovation Group. Discussions about the importance of startup ecosystem in india and why a entrepreneur’s goal must be to focus on people’s problems was focused. The entrepreneurs had a great time getting their doubts clarified.
The most awaited event of the AugustFest “100 startup pitches” had a great turnout and post talking to the organizers, we will publish the winner names.
