Get Simpl Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is a Mumbai – based e – commerce startup which runs the online shopping app, Simpl. The startup had announced yesterday (17/08/2017) that it has raised Series A round of funds from the US – based VC firm, Green Visor Capital LP II. Other investors like IA Venture Strategies Fund II LP, Boillot Family Trust, Russell M Byrne, The Oliver R. Grace, Jr. Millennium Trust, SF Capital Investments LP and DIA Investments LLC also participated in that round of funding. Read more on e – commerce startups
Green Visor Capital is a fintech firm which was founded by the former Visa CEO, Joe Saunders. The firm had seed funded Get Simpl Technologies Pvt. Ltd. last year along with the New York – based, IA Ventures. Green Visor Capital was launched in 2013. It had raised US $51 million during its seed funding round and US $200 million in its Pre Series funding round during May, last year (2016). The startup has partnered with online platforms such as BookMyShow, Faasos, FreshMenu and Nykaa, among others.
The e – commerce sector has attracted a lot of investors’ attention lately. Quite a few e commerce startups in India had gotten funded during the past year. The e commerce startup, OhoShop had raised US $1 million in angel funding round from the Media conglomerate, Bennett Coleman and Company Ltd (BCCL) during March, this year (2017). The e – commerce startup 10i Commerce Services Pvt. Ltd. got US $5 million in angel round of funding from the Infosys co – founder, Nandan Nilekani during December, last year (2016) just to name a few. Read more on Startup News
